An hello from the salmons' country!
This is not actually my first post, but I realised I was rather impolite not to present myself. I am Dudush (Matthieu is my real name) I am French and I write you from Norway where I live currently.
I discovered your awesome website earlier at the end of this summer.
Last year, one friend had installed the Wiikey 1 chip on my Wii and it turned out to stop working minutes after he installed it. We did not succeed in fixing it. Then I gave up for a while. But time going by, I got more and more frustrated to have a chip in my console and not being unable to do anything with it! Eventually, at the end of last August I started looking for something to fix my chip (I failed, it appears that nothing is possible in my case) and I ended up on Wiibrew and then on your website. The more I read, the more I was dumbfounded to discover the wii homebrew world and its possibilities, and all the SUPER guides available on your forum.
But, I am really wedded to my Wii, and I barely knew what was an homebrew before. So to say, I was really scared to death to put a guide in application, but at the same time there was something exciting about trying it . After reading your FAQ, your guides and others threads something like 1000 times to be sure I understood everything, I decided to do the great Messie's guide and its linked FAQ, which corresponded to my system and was reassuring with its numerous small warnings like:
NEVER UNINSTALL ANY IOS LESS THAN 200!!!!
If you uninstall ios70 or any ios lower than 200, your Wii will suffer a slow and painful DEATH!
for a noob like me .
I had cold sweats during all the process, but it worked without any problems, and when I was done, I realised that I liked it .
Earlier I followed the non less amazing Mauifrog's guide to add some missing IOS to my Wii because I had few problems with some backups and apps.
I really want to say thank you and thank you so much again to you guys who give your time to write such amazing, complete, safe and high-quality guides, you are really awesome generous people, I really admire you for doing all of that! I think now I will come on this forum as much as time allows me to, in order to learn more about my dear Wii and try to know more about softmodding. I do not think I will become as strong as you, but if I can get some basics and help some lost people at my turn, I will be happy with that.

Believe me, I know the fear of softmoding for the first time. The wife and I bought a Wii for our kids last Christmas and I knew ahead of time that I wanted to softmod it but I never told her that lol. When I started the process about a week after I hooked it up I had to keep looking over my shoulder to make sure she wasn't watching me, lol. Every little thing I done made me shiver with fear but it all went smooth and I realized just how awesome this sire is.
