No, you're not screwed. Just follow this guide. I don't know what region you're in but you will need Lego Indiana Jones - Original adventure(for NTSC or PAL) or SSBB (NTSC Only). Just follow the guide, it works great.
K, a bit of newb just by the sheer fact that I have been out of it for a while.
The wii is chipped but did the softmod at some point to get into USB loader. I muddled through the softmod and have been up and running for a year or so no issues. I was running 4.1 maybe 4.2 (not sure) and using homebrew channel v.08. The babysitter took the 4.3 update. and since then nothing has been right.
Now when i start up it goes to a bootmii screen which it didn't used to do, the light doesn't flash twice just stays solid. And if I hold down reset and power up it just goes right to the wii system menus. If i choose the wii menu from BootMii it will boot the system menu and I can still launch homebrew, but if I go to the sd card which still has the hackmii stuff on it I get an error that says "Error #004 system files are corrupted".
If I try and use bootloader I get "USB loader GX needs unstubbed cIOS 222 v4 or 249 v9"
I have two files nand.bin and nand.key but they are 1kb each. So let's just say I have no nand backup.
Am I totally screwed? Or any one have any ideas?
will give it a try thanks. Am I basically re-softmodding? not questioning the method just would like to understand it for future reference.
Actually, since Homebrew wasn't remove you can just start with chapter 2 of that guide. You don't need any games. The games are only needed to install HBC.
thanks to both of you. I think I will run through it all. Already rented the game. And it would be nice to have a nand backup for future references.
There is a bootmii option for that guide, no game is required.

That's not a bad thing. It's an easy guide to follow and good to know. Make sure you install Prilloader and enable Block Disk Update and Block Online Updates to prevent from happing in the future.
That did the trick thanks everybody. I did have to go through the indiana jones game to get it to work. but other than no issues not covered by the guide.
