    Quick Query About Bootmii Backups

    Hi everyone,

I'm just about to take the plunge and softmod my 4.3 wii, but i am still wary about bricking. I will be fine after backing up with Bootmii but my question is: Is there a high chance of bricking while backing up your NAND?

    Thanks

I see no reason why making a NAND Backup should brick your Wii. A NAND Backup does not make any changes to your Wii but makes a complete copy (backup) to your SD Card. In conclusion, possibilities of bricking while making a NAND Backup are extremely low. However, there's still the possibility of bricking while softmodding after the NAND Backup, just follow the instructions precisely and carefully and you'll be completely fine.

I will be less worried about bricking afterwards as i know that the wii can be restored back from a brick. It was just the chance of bricking before having a safety net that i was worried about.

If the power cut out during a backup, would the wii brick?

    Man, you're a gloomy fellow, aren't you?

I seriously doubt a power outage during a backup would do so; during a RESTORE, a legitimate possibility.

I think its also worth mentioning. Only Bootmii installed as boot2 can save you from a full brick. BootMii as an iOS can only save you from smaller bricks. Sadly, BootMii can only be installed as boot2 on older consoles made before mid-2008. Although, if you follow instructions carefully and do nothing illogical, you'll be completely fine
