WII DVD drive looks dead after Soft mod

After using Mauifrog's nice guide : Softmod any Wii, every thing is working nice. However DVD drive is not taking or ejecting any disc.

My Wii is almost new and system is 4.2U.

    I need your help.

    Thanks

I don't know if this will help but try this via homebrew channel.

I have already removed the disc manually by disassembling the wii but now the drive is not taking any disc.

Yea, I figured it might be something like that, and like I said, not sure if this will help. Your post indicated to me that it may be a software related issue locking the console up. Maybe this would release that, whatever it may be.

Otherwise it would have to be a hardware issue and your post indicated to me that it was unlikely.

now that you have indicated that you did open the console up and manually remove a disk, It is more likely to be a hardware issue than than it was likely to be before (opening it up ).

I had to refresh the page or navigate back a couple of times to get it, but it was working earlier first time.

@mat I am not sure why a software modification would cause the dvd drive to fail, but who knows.

Did you force the disk out or find a manuall pin-type of eject on the drive?

After disassembling the Wii, I pulled up the hand that pushs on the disc and removed the disc.
