Burning iso help,
Okay so i spent last night blindly following a soft mod guide XD
And i finished the mod last night.
I have two files backed up on my computer "Nand" and the file i made after i took the nand off.
My system is still on 4.3u Because i could not figure out how to downgrade it like the guide told me. It told me this step was optional so since i cold not figure it out i gave up.
My wii was bought about 2 or 3 months after it was released but it think it was in October of 08 i had to get my wii repaired due to my new puppy chewing through the cord. She manged to fry the wii, and not herself (I'm glad it worked out that way, Lol She's my dog)
My other info is as follows:
Model# RVL-001 (USA)
Neogamma R8, IOS249 (Rev 17)
I burnt a copy of silent hill shattered memories for the wii. and my hope was that it would run. I'm not sure if this matters as well but i burnt it on a DVD+R
I'm working on getting wario ware smooth moves, i thought maybe an older game may work.
Now here is the problem when i run the game i get a DVD Read error (1167)
Do i need to downgrade my wii, do DVD+Rs not work, or is my NeoGamma Outdated?
Or maybe even my wii may not be able to run burnt games...
Thanks for any help and advice i hope i'm able to run burnt back up games lol
I doubt it will play backup disks, too new for that.
Really? to new
Yeah, newer Wii has a drive that will not read burned discs...
I bought it a month or two after its release date, but got it repaired in 08 i think the mother board was what got fried does that have to do with how the disk is read if they replaced the board?
Oh lol, thought you said 2 or 3 months old. If it was ever serviced the drive could have been replaced with the newer ones.
I would try using dvd-r for one thing.
Also to rule out anything, search for a problematic games thread.

I have in the past instructed folks to use wbfs manager to format the sd card or flash drive and load an .iso onto it. Neogamma can load them and that can tell if it is a softmod or a disk issue.
Since i have your attention :P do you suggest i add anything to my wii.. so far all i've done is the soft mod, and have not gotten any real benefit from doing so..

If you used one of our guides you should have what you need to play them, aside from a few problematic games from the list I mentioned.
As I said before, if you have an sd card between 2-4 gig, insome cases it is enough to transfer an iso onto. Most games will shrink alot when trnsfered to a wbfs formatted media. Noegamma has the option to load games via disk, sd card, or usb device. If it will run from there then your softmod is fine, But you can always post a system check for someone to verify this.
There are alot of factors that make troubleshooting disk loader harder. And the fact that your console was serviced may be a problem as I mentioned.
