Unable to load the Wii setting menu..

    Hi, please help..
I having a Japan Wii, everything is japanese. Now, i got a problem.. when i try to check the firmware of my Japan Wii, so, that i can follow the guide to softmod my wii. i unable to do so, cos, when i enter the wii setting menu.. it shows me:

You tried to access the address marc:JP/JP/JPN/index01.html, which is currently unavailble. Please make sure that the Web address(URL) is correctly spelled and punctuated, then try reloading the page.

Make sure your internet connection is active and check whether other applications that rely on the same connection are working..

so, what really goes wrong with my wii?

if there is no option given by the guide wouldn't just try it.
solve your semi-brick, install softmods, get a nand backup with bootmii, then you can think about chaning region, with anyregionchanger or waninkokos region changer as region changing can get you a full brick
    just step by step
not an expert in region changing though, i am sure you will find threads for this
    cheers and good luck
