Probably not the bluetooth module as the wiimote is still powering on the wii. Did u try and install anything last time u used it?
After not playing my Wii for a month or so, I turn it on and find a black screen.
Wiimote power-on works
Eject button works
Reset/Power buttons do not work, but holding Power for 5 seconds turns it off
When a disc is inserted, it will spin and run like normal
I don't have BootMii installed (Was going to, but never got to doing it due to not using the Wii often)
I see on the guides that this may be a Bluetooth problem, is this true?
I haven't installed anything for a while, no. I have installed hbc, and DVD support and that's it. It might be just the Wii getting old, this is an original Wii.
could be wifi module.
would be easier to tell whats wrong with it if you had installed bootmii
That wont work if its the wifi module and the fact hes not been using it, id say its probably not ios/system menu related.
A lot of the time people say it hasn't been used in months, they are wrong. Someone could've used it or updated it without his knowledge.
I'm aware it could also be a hardware issue however, that's why I said if you get the system menu version to show up on the black screen to then continue.
from savemii flowchart on how to diagnose Wii's. You can see that missing/defective wifi module is there as a cause of it not booting.
Also, Ive booted wii's many times without wifi and they do not boot. Unless it was a change in the motherboard ive not seen, it doesnt boot.
You can however get into bootmii if installed as boot2 and run HBC channel from there.
