WiiMC is the worst the normal media player is way better. Some of my videos only show a black screen in WiiMc and there streaming adult content on WiiMC so i have to be careful that my little sister doesn't go around snooping

What are you, 12? Twenty-third rate encoded/video quality of that kind isn't exactly how shall we say... the basis for a balanced opinion? I suggest you do not further elaborate with regard to your particular subject matter.

this is my set uo and it works...

Display name= Toshiba (my laptop's brand)
    Share IP= (laptop IP)
Share name= users (this is the folder under your network>laptop's name>Users.....................most files can be accesed through here.

This is (using a folder's name) the only way i could share it, homegroup, laptop's name and other on the share name didn't work for me.

display name = what will be displayed in WiiMC, it can be anything (I made mine movies, music, pictures)
share IP = the IP address your router gives to your computer
share name = the name of the shared folder at the share IP address
username = the user account on the computer that has access to the shared folder
password = the username's password to log in (not necessary if there is no password)
