    Another Priiloader question

Hi all, I kind of asked this in WiiJohn's Thread: Add Priiloader to 4.1U or 4.1E or 4.2U or 4.2E, 0.4 (r78), I bumped my question with no answer so I decided to create a new thread hoping this doesn't count as "multiple posting".

Having said that, my cousin used that guide to install priiloder (without using cIos 249) while I installed Priiloader using cIos249. We are wondering what's the main difference?

I have read many times it's recommended to use Cios 249 however I just followed advices and don't know why it is recommended that way.

    Thanks

If you installed IOS 60 patched first and used a trucha-enabled IOS, likely you'll be OK. The guides are set up with maximum WIN in mind, the FAILS are minimized to a manageable level. I'm guessing he obviously didn't follow a wiihacks tutorial.

    Thanks for the reply

He claims he followed a guide here at wiihacks when system menu 4.0 was just released and preloader was the option to go that time. Around January he wanted to "upgrade" to Priiloader and followed WiiJohn's guide. At first I thought he misread the guide and forgot to hold the B button to install priiloader but in that guide you are told to just press the + button to install it and doesn't mention anything about using cIos249.

Should I tell him to get rid of that installation and do it again this time using cIos249?

Fair enough. If it works and he used a trucha-enabled IOS, I'd not worry about it.
