    Hardmod/Version Query

Hi there Wiihacks team! I have been browsing for forums for a few days now trying to familiarise myself with a few basics before making my post.

Situation: I am currently using a hardmodded Wii, with a chip soldered in (unsure of brand, but can find out if necessary), I updated to 4.2 under the belief that it would have no effect on my past/future games. However i picked up 4 games at a swapmeet: SMG2, Drawn to Life, Zelda TP and Mario Power Tennis, and only the latter two work. Initially I thought maybe the burnt discs were dodgy, but reading the forums I believe that Drawn to Life may be an Out of Region game, which is incompatible with 4.2. And SMG2 may not work because of some IOS problem?

I was wondering what the best course of action would be to be able to get these games to work. Ideally I would like to stick to hardmod, to keep it less complex. Is this possible? Or is the only solution to my problem to softmod?

Thanks in advance guys, sorry if i am crossing over previously answered questions!!

This is what you'll need to do in order to restore out of region gaming on a hardmodded Wii. Any questions on the process go within the given thread.

Excellent, thankyou for the link dude. Will this fix the issue with SMG2 as well? Or is that something entirely different?

    Sorry for double post.
Was just wondering if i could get some expert advice regarding whether or not I should follow the guide to: Restore my 4.2e Wii with Wiikey 2 to 4.1 using mauifrogs guide, or If I should remain on 4.2 and learn how to softmod.

Ideally, I would like to do as little softmodding as possible, hence why I have a Wiikey 2. On the other hand, I would like to get a couple of my games such as SMG2 to work, which means I might have to Softmod regardless?

Any help appreciated, thanks a lot.
