started a softmod using 4.2 guide didnt realize the system was 4.1

I got through the first few steps and when i went to delete the stubs there were none. I then realized something was wrong. Should i have him update to 4.2? or will it brick?

I got to step 4 in This guide before i realized it was a 4.1 firmware. He did not tell me.

You could have had a quick check in the wii settings before starting but as you havn't caused any damage just follow what Pob said
