Thread: cIOSX rev19 with base 37 but wad manager still works :S

  1. #1

Question cIOSX rev19 with base 37 but wad manager still works :S

I've used cIOSX rev19 installer that is found here:

and I installed ios249 with base 37, in order to play Monster Hunter Tri (and I can play it now). But even though it says that the wad manager will not work unless it is with base 38, it still works with base 37. With wad manager, i used ios61 to install shop channel v19, and it was installed successfully. How is this possible?

I'm new in softmodding, so please answer without complicated terms

Edit: I am using wad manager 1.5

What version of wad manager was it?

the name of the file before I load it, in HBC, says 1.4, but when I load it its title says 1.5, so basically it is 1.5

    Any ideas????????

You must have had the meta file from WM 1.4 and the WM 1.5 boot.dol in the same folder, that is why in homebrew channel, 1.4 was displayed on the folder. Waninkoko makes claims of a security flaw when using Wad Manager ( lower than 1.7 ) with cIOSx rev19 installed without 38 base. I'm guessing that a bad wad install could happen. That's why Wad Manager 1.7 is recommended with cIOSx rev19.

Ok, I've installed wad manager 1.7 and it still works so no prob

Does it matter whether I install the shop channel using ios249 or ios61? I did it with ios61 but in this post:

it says that we should better use 249. What's the difference?

Ok, now I've read that 249 is used for HB apps and 61 for shop channel. But I uninstalled the shop channel using 249 and installed it again with 61. Will this cause a problem?

I'm not sure I understand the question. Wad manager itself should default to IOS 249 in terms of the IOS it runs under. You always use IOS 249 that it operates off of. Installing say IOS 61 involves installation via IOS 249. You don't run wad manager and set it to operate off of IOS 61, for example.

Well, I have installed it (Shop channel) using ios61, not 249 :O Will this cause a problem?
