Can my hard drive be used both ways?

I play wii games from my hard drive, and it says it needs to be formated. Once formatted, I cant use it to store stuff. Is it possible to use it for the wii and also to store data?

Yes there is, one of two ways

Way One:- 2 Partitions, 1 WBFS for Games & 1 FAT32 for Data
Way Two:- 1 FAT32 Partition that does ALL

Yes but you can not make a fat32 partition over 32GB using the windows format tool. I would make two separate partitions 1 NTFC and 1 WBFS. You can find guides on how to do this by searching Google. Or you can just check out this link which has a good guide that's easy to follow. NTFS/WBFS Dual Partition

Either way should work fine. Windows XP, Vista, 7 support any size fat32 partitions. I have a 500GB hard drive with two partitions 232GB NTSC and 232GB WBFS and everything works great.
