  1. #1

Wink Can I SoftMod ANY Black Wii?

I have looked around on google and stuff, and seen where some were able to, and where some weren't, so i was just wondering, should i be careful of serials, or is any black wii acceptable for soft modding?

You can softmod any wii, I don't care if it is purple. The only downside is that disk backups are not possible on newer wii consoles( including all black ones). You will have to use a usb device or an sd card to play the iso or image files from.

All of the new black Wiis will have D3-2 (or D4, I suppose) drives. As Krank says, any Wii can be softmodded. In a case like this, you'd have to go USB HD as described here. Other options are the WODE and Sundriver.

Why do other threads get closed so easy (I know they deserve to be closed) and threads like this one don't?

You can see this question almost everyday.

Only certain staff members like to close threads. Makes sense most of the time, question asked, question answered, thread closed.
Since they automatically get closed in a 30 day time period, I generally only do it If a thread get's hijacked, or a conversation in the thread becomes out-of-hand, or if someone askes something like " how do I hack a wii".
I usually like to keep some of them open in case the member comes back with new information or if someone in a simular situation comes along and isn't sure, but needs to ask. Also in this case, when you bumped the thread, someone may have been ready to ask the question and it was brought to the foreground.

When these threads appear, we let the info that the OP needs be posted.... then "whenever" the mods close it we close it....
WE are a learning site and if someone is brand spankin new to the forum he has the right to undertand how we do/run things here....

Like posting in the into section and looking at the search function and various other things....
