.daa compressed image file help.
I currently have a problem with a backup of Super Smash Brothers Brawl. The file is compressed as a .daa file, as described in the readme, and WBFS Manager will not pick up the .iso image because of this. I've done some searching, and can't find out if it's possible to convert this into a "normal" iso image to allow WBFS to recognize the file. The file itself is NOT a .daa file. It's an .ISO. It was just compressed as a .daa file.
I'm trying to use USB Loader GX to play my backup. Everything I've done up to this point has been flawless due to the perfection of the tutorials and guides on this site, but I can't find any information as to how to get it onto my WBFS drive.
Any help is appreciated, and thanks for reading
I would get another .iso. I have never seen anyone compress to that format for wii images and see no reason for doing it. There are ways of converting it that you can google, but it is probably a fake.
Thanks for the quick reply. I think I'll just take your advice and find another .iso. It really doesn't seem logical to compress the file that way, because it was an 8gb download. For nothing. I should have just skipped on this one.

I've never heard of DAA file types, but even though it seems a good prog it seems to have been superseded by winrar.
Anyway saying that i'v grabbed a copy as for some reason it may come in handy 1 day.
Yea it is a format native to winiso or magic iso or something like that. I have had to fool with them in the past as it was most popularly used to compress images of audio cd's

It is just one of the many ways that you can compress / pack a .iso (the .daa is like an outer shell for the .iso)
There is an entire Tutorial on how to get the .iso out here: How to extract / open .daa files (free) (AS LINKED BEFORE)
As to the size of the archive of the game SSBM is a Dual layer game and if it was not scrubbed before packing then it should be that big!!!!
