I cannot run games through my external HD anymore. I had been using USBLoaderGX on a 4.2U softmod. No games work, I get a black screen, and sometimes I get a black screen with a loud continuous beep. Also, I can no longer rip games from the drive to external HD, i choose rip game and then it crashes.
Here's what happened. I followed a 3.1 - 4.1 softmod guide, everything worked fine. Then, I started adding new games, one of them didn't work. I decided it'd be a better idea to update my system, and follow a 4.2 guide and that would fix the problem. Yes I now know, there's guides to troubleshoot specific games. Big mistake obviously. So I basically followed the virginize guide, and then tried to update my system to 4.2 via nintendo, that failed, so I used wainkino's updater, still didn't work, so I updated via Dop-mii, and then followed shadowsonic's guide to softmod more or less. And yes, I realize that was stupid now.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

Like I said, more or less - the parts that said not to update was the part i skipped. Just like I accidentally skipped over the part about offensive language on the forum rules. Anyhow, thanks for being constructive.
Look here to compare your DOP-Mii report to see if they're the latest versions. I notice you have all patches on IOS 70 (4.2 SM) and only Trucha itself on IOS 60 (4.1 SM). IOS 202 V2? And how did IOS 30 get trucha-enabled?
Thanks I was looking for a thread like that.
Well, I guess it has something to do with my wii originally being a 3.something and that was when I initially modded it? I don't know that initial mod was about a year ago, and I don't remember the guide I followed.
Is there a good DOP-Mii report I can compare it to as a template? Is editing the IOSs through DOP-Mii and reinstalling them to match another report a good idea?
More or less = more or less results.
Now that you have updated i would start from the beginning of the guide and follow EVERY step. I prefer Messie's guide to shadowsonic's but that's just personal preference either should do.
If i helped you please click thanks.

II. Posting Rules and Guidelines
1. Posts themselves should be made following additional rules and guidelines:
a) Before posting your question, use the SEARCH function. Look through the site Tutorials, Guides, and FAQs.
Like I said... I followed it step-by-step, and the more or less was me ignoring the update advice. The problem is probably with IOS30 which following either of those guides won't be addressed. If someone could post their DOP-Mii report of a working 4.2 softmod I don't see why I couldn't simply edit my IOSs to match theirs via DOP-Mii.
lol, stop being defensive and take their advice, quit trying to do a work around. Take the help that's offered or dont ask, shortcuts will get you exactly where you are now.

Its normal to have 3 patches on IOS70.
Your IOS look okay excluding what nightstah mentioned above. IOS30 is not needed for 4.2 and a stub version is installed.
I can't say that this is your issue but that's the only thing I notice.( I didn't check if ALL your IOS are up to date, just the main ones).- IOS 30: Used by System Menu 3.0 (v1037), 3.1 (v1039), 3.2 (v1040), and 3.3 (v2576).
- Stub v2816 installed for later System Menus.
Damn I suck!!!!
Thanks for eyeballing Krank, a little too tired to Micro compare tonight. Which is why I linked OP to it in the hopes he'd you know, compare it himself.
