Thread: [Lite] Buying a flashcart. Need clarification.

Question [Lite] Buying a flashcart. Need clarification.

I'm getting a flashcart next month for my DS lite, and it will be my first flashcart.
I already decided that I wanted an Acekard 2i, but I just wanted some clarification.

-I want a flashcart to play a rom of HG/SS. Will I be able to use AR codes with a rom?
-Can I use Acekart to install save files that I've downloaded? (See: Pokesav)
-Does a .nds file take up a lot of space? Will 2gb be enough?

    1. AceKard 2i can works on DS Lite.
    2. AceKard 2i running AKAIO 1.6 RC2 can run almost anything including Pokemon HG/SS without patches.
    3. Yes, you can download save files onto your SD Card and use them for games on your AceKard.
    4. The biggest .nds file I've seen to data is 512 mb. Haven't seen any other one that big though. Most DS ROMs are between 64 to 256 MB

    Thanks. two more questions:
-When you get your Acekard, will it have the software already inside it, or do I have to download it? Because I'm seeing a lot of people talking about Akaio or Wood or stuff like that.
-Where would be the most trustworthy website to buy an Acekard?

you can buy r4i sdhc and it runs roms real good. i am an owner of 1 and i am quite happy with it cause it does have ar codes but the firmware developers make their own codes which work better that ar and they keep their database updated and constant with each new game

You have to place your firmware files on your SD Card. AKAIO and Wood are firmwares that go on your SD.
