    Dont know best option.

Hello All. I am hoping someone can help me out some. Been a long time since I have been here. Anyway, I have been out of the wii hacking for a long time and a little confused as to everything that is going on now. I am trying to catch up but am getting confused about where to start now.

    Here is my situation.

My wii wasnt used for about 2 years. Its an older wii, bought a couple months after launch, with a wiikey clone that I made. I had installed HBC and had a USB loader channel and other things as well. Being that its been so long I dont know what IOS or anything else that is currently on it. The sd card I had has since been lost and i dont have the original files that were on it or wads I used to install channels.

My current goal is to install wiiflow. I believe the best way to go about it is to revert my wii back to a virgin state. I dont know what the easiest and safest route to go.

should I try to use this guide
should i update to 4.2 and then follow this guide

Like i said previously I have no clue what IOS or anything that is allready on the wii.

    thanks for any help.

    Do Not update to 4.2.
updating to 4.2 will kill homebrew.
if u are on a system menu 3 or 4.0 use the guide to softmad any 3.1-4.1:

Thanks guys. I turned on the wii and now have a different problem. As soon as i try to start a game, disk or vc, most of the time it just goes to black screen and says nothing. Homebrew channel does the same. Sometimes it will work, other times it wont.

Looks like I am going to have an even bigger headache than i expected.
