We had this discussion already on the IRC.... but we will see what comes of this....
okay so i have been doing alot of research but end up with nothing google has nothing
the problem is my wii wont spin discs
i have google this and can find nothing, everything on google is wii "wont load, eject or spin disc"= dead drive= replace dvd drive
my problem is my wii "does" eject and load games BUT wont spin them
so my question is does anyone know the cause of this problem before i start swapping parts from my good wii to pinpoint the problem. could a bad laser cause this (most people iv talked to said no a laser would not cause this) or could its be the motor? or could it be something busted on the mother board ?
yes i know but there wasnt alot of people in the chat room
im posting everywhere in a bunch of forums to see, so i can get alot of knowledge
Yes the laser could cause it. if it doesn't see the disk, it will not spin it. Best to buy and install another drive instead of trying to figure out what could be wrong with the drive
guys, emuhack and i both tried to tell him that... He has specifically stated he wants profit on this so replacing the drive is a no go. He came into irc and im a modder this im a modder that, but he is wanting to charge a customer money for maybe parts when we ALL know replacing the drive is what to do. Then he questions us if we actually know anything wii related.... this guy is a waste of time for any future posts, this needs to be locked as he isnt getting the clues that we have bestowed upon him.
Ahh, ok. I know the type.
Ok sir, members here have mentioned possible scenarios and solutions, no further diagnosis can be made without trial and error on your end. We are a site geared toward wii modification and not wii hardware diagnosis. Good luck searching, but we have told you all we know.
I understand that everybody wants to learn as much as they can from others.... But like tristan said and i forgot till now:
I dont agree with this and i can prolly say this about many here that is bad business...He has specifically stated he wants profit on this so replacing the drive is a no go. He came into irc and im a modder this im a modder that, but he is wanting to charge a customer money for maybe parts
In Closing here is what you can do.
1. Buy a Motor and Replace that (see if it works)
2. Buy a Laser and Replace that (see if it works)
3. Buy a New Wii Drive AND BE DONE!!
