Do you need both Hardmod and Softmod
Initially I had installed a Drivekey in my Wii and later, mainly becasue of Super Mario Bros, I softmoded my Wii as well.
All is working fine thus far.
Now my friend has asked me to also Mod his Wii. He has neither Soft or Hard! My question now is:
Is there a need to do BOTH a hardmod (DriveKey) as well as a softmod? Is there any advantages to doing both?
Or should I simply do a softmod for him?
no, not anymore in the usbloading day in age...... just softmod it and tell him to usb load......

So by installing the DriveKey first, would you say I will reduce the chance of Bricking the Wii during and after softmoding?

depends what your mate is after
you can have both you can use the drivekey to launch dvd back ups through disc channel...
with softmod you have to use a backup loader....neogamma=disc, usb gx & wiiflow =usb loadin
softmod needs a occasional upkeep
as said above softmod and get him to usb load games...
