just replaced my wii laser and now unable to read disc

please help, i can't find any answers. i finally got my wii replacement laser and triwing screwdriver yesterday. while watching youtube tutorials, i managed to replace the laser in my wii. before i replaced it, it would only sometimes give me the "cd cannot be read. refer to wii operations manual.." for smash bros brawl and i could still play most games. now i finally get it all back together, and OF COURSE. it's worse than it was before. now when i insert a disc it makes a weird buzzing noise and gives me an "unable to read disc" error. I'M SO FRUSTRATED! WHAT SHOULD I DO?!!

How are you so certain that the laser was the issue to begin with? If it was maybe you messed something else up fooling around in there.

A little drastic for a read error for one game, don't you think? How were you certain it was laser giving you problems in the first place?

    -Wii Menu 4.2U / DARKCORP v1.1 / BootMii as boot2 / Preloader v0.30-
    -USB HDD / Wiiflow 2.0 / Triiforce / VC Image-Pack / cIOS Wads-

well i sent my wii in to nintendo to have the game disc error repaired and they wouldn't do it because i voided my warranty by having homebrew channel. i mean.. i guess i don't KNOW 100% that it is the laser but, from what i've looked up and been told by nintendo, it's the laser unable to read the dual disc or whatever on smash bros. or it was the laser. now i have no idea what to do. has anyone installed a new laser and had problems with it working? i can't find anyone who's had the same problem.

and i don't know of anything that i did damage to inside. i installed just like it said in a couple tutorials. the only think i can think of is my new laser only had one anti-static solder point, and all the other ones i've seen had two or three.

i got some advice from skagg to try putting the old laser back in. i did that and it works. so it must be something with the new laser, i'm thinking.

Especially a dual layer game that requires IOS 249 - Rev 17 or Hermes V4+ to function properly, not to mention an original disc (Note: most pirated versions were ripped with a bad IOS 249 that didn't support dual layer media).

this is an original disc. i've never played any burned games on my system. it also does it for dragon ball z tenkaichi 2. i mean.. i took smash bros out of the case, brand new; and two days later i got an error. are you saying i may be able to run it on a different IOS?
