Well this section of the forum is supposed to be for ppl who actually are in need of help with their bricked wii, not a discussion about what bricked is or why bricked is.
In this section you will will find many preexisting threads with different situations and out comes. From that you can determine just about anything for yourself. I doubt that anyone who helps out in this section is gonna want to take time to explain something that you can easily find by reading preexisting threads, especially if this is not related to you actually having a bricked wii and needing assistance with it.
These are the bricks, their fixes, & how to avoid them:
Semi-Brick: Either update from a game that's in your region or re-install your system menu WAD & IOS using WAD Manager.
How to avoid: Don't update from a game that's in another region other than your own!
Full Brick: Either update from a game that's in your region or re-install your system menu WAD & IOS using WAD Manager.
How to avoid: Don't mess around with the settings if your not sure if it will work.
Banner-brick: Delete the bad WAD you installed using WAD Manager
How to avoid: Don't install corrupted WAD files
All of these can be fixed without a modchip IF you have priiloader installed.
To change bootmii IOS to bootmii as boot2, run the Hackmii Installer, un-install bootmii as a IOS, & install bootmii as boot2.
In a banner brick, you will either get a blank screen, or text that says "System Files are corrupted". If you have priiloader installed or a modchip, you can still autoboot games to play, though.
To conclude, yes you are safe from bricks if you have those things you listed, but the Homebrew channel must be accessible.
