IOS58 installer - Download, WiiBrew
IOS58 Installer does one thing, and one thing only - download and install IOS58 from the Nintendo update servers. This process does not involve any system-critical parts of the system, and is completely safe. IOS58 is required for USB 2.0 support in homebrew applications and is the default IOS used by HBC 1.0.8+. It is included in System Menu 4.3, but those who do not wish to update to 4.3 can just run this installer to get the benefits of IOS58.
If the IOS58 installer doesn't work for you, or you do not have a wifi connection to your Wii, then use NUSD to download IOS58 v6176.

NUSD guide

Thanks goes to Tantric for these emulators and IOS58 installer.

Important - Asking for or supplying links to roms is prohibited at WiiHacks, break the rules and get the reading room.

* Turbo Mode - up to 2x the normal speed
* Zoom option to zoom in/out
* Open Source!
1. Unzip the download
2. copy the two folders (apps, snes9xgx) to the root of your SD card (or usb hdd)
3. any roms you have get placed in SD:/snes9xgx/roms (usb:/snes9xgx/roms)
4. I would recommend you install the forwarder I have provided, it will recognize SD card and both USB ports.
5. Now select the forwarder from the Wii menu and the emulator should start.

Of course, you will need to supply your own roms. It is against forum rules to ask for or supply links to roms, ISO's, BIOS, or WiiWare/VC wads, or any other warez.

SD card
If you are using a SD card then the roms should be recognized

USB HDD will work with either USB port
If you are using a USB HDD and do not see the roms, go to settings, then Loading and Saving. Now highlight the Load Device and press the "A" button until USB appears, do the same for Save Device. Don't worry about saving your setting, that will be automatic when you exit the emulator. Now press the Back button a few time to get back to the roms screen.

SMB Network Share
If you want to load the roms from a folder on your computer, I would recommend to have the emulator files on SD or USB and load the roms from computer via wifi. First you will need to have a wifi connection setup in the Wii Settings (although IOS58 does allow for use of the LAN Adaptor). Next you will need to share a folder on your computer, I named my folder snes roms. I have Windows Vista, so I right click on the snes roms folder and select sharing..., then the next box that pops up I just select the share button. Now I need to get the network IP address of my computer, the way I do this is, in the lower right corner of my computer screen is my network icon, I left click that icon, in the box that pops up I click on the Network Access, then the Network and Sharing Center pops up. In the Network and Sharing Center box I select View status. Now a Local Area Connection Status box will pop up, select the Details button. On my computer I look for the IPv4 IP address, it looks like 192.168.1.101 (your IP may be different). Now to set up the SMB network share in the emulator.

SMB Share IP = 192.168.1.101 (your IP may be different)
SMB Share Name = snes roms (the name of the shared folder)
SMB Share Username = computer login account name
SMB Share Password = computer login account password

the user name and password are not needed if there is none set
entry is case sensitive

I see no use to having the emulator files on a USB device if loading the roms from a network share, because the storage usage will be very small on an SD card, but hey, it's your setup so do as you please. Which ever you choose, the emulator will automatically configure your loading and saving settings.
Visual Boy Advance GX 2.2.0

* Rotation sensors, Solar sensors, and Rumble support
* Optional special Wii controls built-in for some games
* Editable 14-colour palettes for monochrome Gameboy games

* MEM2 ROM Storage for fast access
* Auto frame skip for those core heavy games
* Turbo speed, video zooming, widescreen, and unfiltered video options
1. Unzip the download
2. copy the two folders (apps, vbagx) to the root of your SD card (or usb hdd)
3. any roms you have get placed in SD:/vbagx/roms (usb:/vbagx/roms)

USB HDD (FAT32) will work with either USB port

Next you will need to share a folder on your computer, I named my folder gba roms. I have Windows Vista, so I right click on the gba roms folder and select sharing..., then the next box that pops up I just select the share button.

SMB Share Name = gba roms (the name of the shared folder)
SMB Share Username = computer login account name
SMB Share Password = computer login account password

the user name and password are not needed if there is none set
entry is case sensitive

I see no use to having the emulator files on a USB device if loading the roms from a network share, because the storage usage will be very small on an SD card, but hey, it's your setup so do as you please. Which ever you choose, the emulator will automatically configure your loading and saving settings.

i actually updated FCE Ultra GX and Snes9x yesterday - thanks. But I have another question. I put a ton of NES, SNES and genesis roms on my USB hard drive. For some reason, the emulators aren't able to load the USB hard drive. The option is of course there, but when I click it they say no USB hard drive found. I know my USB HD is working with homebrew because Mplayer and USB loaders are working fine with it. will the IOS 202 above fix that?? thanks

hmm, from gbatemp i read something that suggests to me that i might need to put the games on a FAT32 rather than an NTFS partition. any truth to this?

Yes, use FAT32 for these emulators.

All Wii homebrew will work with FAT32, some apps will also be able to work with NTFS, but not may apps will work with NTFS.

Fixed the first post to refelect the update of all three emulators. It seems as though there was a bug in the auto save function that was corrected.
