GIMP includes a very unique support for various input devices out of the box. Pressure and tilt sensitive tablets, but also a wide range of USB or MIDI controllers. You can bind often-used actions to device events such as rotating a USB wheel or moving a MIDI controller's slider. Change the size, angle or opacity of a brush while you paint, bind your favorite scripts to buttons.

If you like GIMP you can also check out GIMP Shop which is designed to feel more like photoshop.
GIMPshop is a modification of the free/open source GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP), intended to replicate the feel of Adobe Photoshop. Its primary purpose is to make users of Photoshop feel comfortable using GIMP.
Download GIMP Shop
GIMPshop modifies the menu structure to closely match Photoshop's, adjusts the program's terminology to match Adobe's, and, in the Windows version, uses a plugin called 'Deweirdifier' to combine the application's numerous windows. While GIMPshop does not support Photoshop plugins, all GIMP's own plugins, filters, brushes, etc. remain available.

Damn I suck!!!!
I usually use this myself when I need to do some slightly advanced editing of images and whatnot.
I've had it for a while now and not really used it much untill recently. It has loads of features and is fairly easy to use once you get to know it.
downloading this now. Looks useful. Cheers Krank
O M G. What have you done to me Krank?? I installed and went to oopen a pic then the pc shuts down. So I restarted it and it shuts down. So I restart in safe mode and remove it with Ccleaner along with any regkeys etc. I restart and guess what happens?? You got it ...nothing! Back to safemode and try to run avg and f*** me it crashes.
Now fortunately its dual boot so im now having to download avg again to be able to run a scan. Its got to be a virus.. right?? This never happened to me before.
I'll post later with results if bad
I have had no problems with it and I scanned it with 3 different programs. Been using it steady for the past 2 months and I downloaded it from the site I linked above.
What operating system are you using? I used the windows installer because im running Win7.
Sorry dude no intention to cause problems. I really like this software so I wanted to share it. If there is a problem with it then its not on my end.
Alot of people use it so I don't know what could have caused that.
EDIT: I have scanned all installed files from GIMP on my PC with 3 Antivirus, 2 spyware , and 2 malware programs and eveything came up CLEAN. I ran the installer through them as well. I also re-downloaded it and installed it again. Scanned all the installed files and my whole computer again and it still came up clean. I then used the program for 10 or 15 minutes with no problems at all.
Have you had any luck?

Damn I suck!!!!
Sorry there Krank. My sense of humour. Everything went down at the point of using this program. Not your fault.
Anyway like you said theres no virus. Found the problem.
Its like i said in another post somewhere about women and computers. Turns out that that earlier that day my spare sata cable must have moved slightly and was touching a chassis fan so my missus thought if she gave it a clout it would stop. So she did and it did. But in doing so the silly cow knocked the cpu fan off three of the four pins. Have a guess what temp the cpu got before it shut down ........ 95'c-203'f. back up and running now and monitoring the fan speeds and temps just to be sure nothing is damaged and so far so good.
Back to the thread....... I've reinstalled gimp and it is an excellent piece of software. I would definately recomend it. And NO VIRUSES! Again sorry if it sounded like i blamed you Krank. I didn't mean it that way
@ crazy castle - Glad you solved your issue and it wasn't related to the software. I find it very usefull.
Edited first post to add GIMP SHOP download and info. GIMP SHOP is a modification of GIMP that is designed to feel more like photoshop. Many photoshop tutorials can be followed using this program.
