Updated wii and now not reading sd card....

My friend that i modded a wii for recently updated it on accident and had asked me to remod it for home and I learned how to Mod 4.2u wii from messie's tutorial found here: http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html The only problem is that when i try to install homebrew channel and all that good stuff when i turn on the wii and insert the sd card and go to the sd menu, it wont read anything on the sd card. if i put a gamesave on there it reads it just fine. I tried using a 1gig pny that was already in it and the 2gig sandisc that i use in my wii, when i go to the sd menu it just stays blank rather than saying the usual load boot.dol/elf. any ideas? i've done quite a few wiis but i'm stumped right now and i'm hoping someone on here can help me thanks to anyone that can

Do you have the correct files on the SD? Is the card formatted to fat32? Full format? Are you going into data managment first or just clicking the SD card icon on the wii menu?
    Damn I suck!!!!

i've done a quick and full format on both cards, went into data management and the sd card icon menu, nothing seems to start up, i've tried just about everything, i think i'm gonna try the bannerbomb v2 tutorial i found here Hacking guide for 4.2u wii (idk if i can post external tutorial link. srry if that breaks a rule) and then trying the hackmii installer

Messie's guide works just fine. Make sure to extract the files to the sd (2gb sandisk is recommended). You should really follow the guides here as it will be much easier to diagnose and provide support for any potential problems. Some Wii's are also funny this way, I don't remember if I had to insert the sd first then power on my Wii or vice versa. Maybe try it both ways if one doesn't work, after verifying your card is formatted and the proper files are EXTRACTED onto it.
