i might be thinking out of the box but.......

I have networwork sharing where i play my movies from the pc throught the Wii on my tv via wireless, found old pc of mine and took the hard drive of it and added to my pc to give me more space, my question is: can i mount wii games on this harddrive and play it off the pc like i am doing now on my movies? i know this may sound and it probably is but worth asking i beleive.

anyways your thoughts are really appreciated.#

    thanks

Been asked several time and the answer is still No, right now at least. Streaming data over wifi would lead to rather slow gameplay, I'd imagine. Plus the cIOS isn't written with this in mind. The solution..stop looking for ways to get around buying a external USB drive and just get one.

You could always play your ISO games using Dolphin, the Gamecube/Wii emulator, if it's strong enough.

    That's alright.

In theory the idea would be great but you can't beat the speed of a Hard drive connected to the Wii directly.

Wifi speed is quite patchy and just about copes with standard def video, so at most maybe pulling 1MB/second over the network. 8x DVD speed (which is often slated as the speed USB loaders work at) is some 10MB/sec, so a 10 second loading screen here becomes a minute and a half over wifi. Not good.

I came across a wonderous resource for all sorts of useless (useful) information, I like to call it Google.
