    Can we unbrick without a nand back up?

    Can we unbrick without a nand back up?

    a friend of mine was asking this from me. can we unbrick a wii without a nand back up?
    he can access the Homebrew channel but he doesn't have any nand back up.
    he tried to update his wii until the internet was disconnected.

    why does internet updates brick anyway?
    does wii internet updates save the updates in a temp memory in the wii first then install it when its complete?
