Well I recently found this out(may be old news) but I found a way to backup Wii isos without using an LG drive.
First you need to have MagicISO. I am using MagicISO version: 5.5(build 0276).
1. Load up the Wii game and open up MagicISO.
2. On the menu/navigation bar at the top click on Tools > Make ISO from CD/DVD-ROM.
3. Select your CD/DVD-ROM Drive, choose the directory of the output file, and choose the output file format(we know it needs to be .iso).
4. When everythnig is to your liking, click OK and make sure it is checked off at Make CD Image, and not Export Boot Image.
This works for Dual Layer discs and I tried it with Super Smash Bros. Brawl and it worked with that.
Later on I will add pictures and links.
Wow i will have to try this.... WOOT
What drive are you using? I tried and no go. I suspect it may be the type of drive you are using.
I want too
cool thanks i gotta try so i can rent burn and return!
i gotz a soft mod wii, flashed 360 a hackz psp and a lost dsi with ak2i did all of them my self but i had help with the xbox!death screens help error 002 fix and green screen
wads reboot your system
what is a death screen? i call them death screens coz they ugly and horrible click on error if you get green or error screen and click on wads if wads reboot your system
I tried (retail disk) with the drive that is my laptop and when i went to make the iso it said that it could not read the boot sector of the dvd... becasue the LG drives are the only ones that can read the wii data from a original disk.... and the backups work becasue they do not have the same encyption that the retail disks do
I tried that and may be the game i downloaded is fake or corrupted as Magiciso will say "Can't find the file or file isn;t CD image file..."
