geexbox wii 4.2 without any software

ok, i realy like to have it on my wii, i see a lot of tutorial about it but every one say that i cant have the 4.2 update, or i need one channel, but to install this channel i need another channel and i get a litte lost.... xP
and finally i realise that i couldn't make it without help =O
well, i get the 4.2 version updating in wii menu. my wii doesn't have any of those channels that every one put on wii. the way i see, i have to download the geexbox channel, but to run it i need the homebrew on wii right?
ok, to install homebrew, do i need any other channel?
what is the homebrew? i don't now if is a pack of some hacks for wii becase a lot of tutorials that in the tittle say hamebrew, tell how to install other things...bootmi, hackmii, bannerbomb. i don't wanna any os thoso o.o, unless i REALY need them =) or with them make everything easier xP
and will be very usefull if someone can tell me what to do, i mean, without just say install that and that and send me a tutorial.
    i think that's all =D
    thankssssssss!!!

i don't speak english well so, if i made a mistake, ignore it

Ok in the guides section there are 2 guides to softmod the 4.2. you can either follow the whole guide and be completely ready for anything, or just run the hackmi installer at the begining to install the homebrew channel. then go to wiibrew.com and find your app.

so, everything i need is hackmii to instal homebrew?
i am not american so, i didn't understand this expression
    softmod wii 4.2
if the hackmii is anything i need to install homebrew, is there a version to 4.2?
and if there is, if i install the hackmii in my wii, i install the homebrew with no other problems? even in the 4.2? =O
    thankssss o/

Either one of those softmod guides will have the hackmi installer at the begining so that you can install hombrew channel. This will only allow you to run homebrew apps, it will not allow you to play backups. to play backups follow the whole guide.
