can an Ipod be used as a substitute for an external hard disk
A friend wants to know if he can use the internal hard drive in his ipod to play games off of, with gammaloader, is it safe to format an ipod hard drive?
this made me lol so hard. might be possible, i doubt it though, tell him to format it, then format again using wbfs.
Hey don't laugh too hard, I was actually wondering about that my self. My thoughts on this are purely speculation. Ipods have their own firmware and with that said in my imho one would have to rid the pod of the firmware then format. I really do not see why it would not be possible besides the wii does charge my ipod so his idea may not be far fetched. Aside from that if you have an old ipod laying around why not put it to use?

Every once in a while we have someone come in here and say that they are working on doing this. They have fairly decent explanation of why it could work and what they will try to get it to. They always say they will post back and let us know how it goes. Never seen them do it yet lol. I think what would be cool since i have roms for my emulators as well as some movies on my ipod touch if it could work. I did see the new nes emulator has it so you can use the wiimote for it since it uses bluetooth anyway and that is kinda cool, but tha't all i know for sure about the 2 devices working together.
the idea of it sounds better than anything. But whats the capacity of it like 80gigs? i have like 50 games on my hdd and its taking up 91gb.
This is certainly possible! As an ipod can be made to be a hardrive as well, if you go into Itunes, it gives you the option to pick how much data you would like to put on it. You can put as much or as little of the space as you want. Formatting it WBFS, that, I don't know if it possible, using to load ISO's on and using that with a USB loader, extremly possible.

According to HERE Some work and some do not, and they are listed on that page...
and @Knight Hawk: Yes that is correct you have to make the IPOD go into Disk Mode, some of the ipods will do this if you hold down the middle button...
