    Play AVIs from External Drive

Ive had a good mooch about but only found Wii Video 9 - Which converts AVIs too a HUGE format..

Is there any Homebrew apps that could play raw AVI's directly from the external?

    Cheers

Yes, it will even stream AVIs located on your PC hard drive over your home wifi network. AVIs, MP3, m3u playlists - loads of formats are supported.

Look at the USBLoaders thread for which one will suit you best for your own needs.

MPlayer's GUI is just the names of the video files and other folders written in green, and the background is black.
But it works great, the site says it supports:
    * Containers: AVI, WMV, MKV, MP3, FLV (Flash Video), MP4, M4V, QuickTime
    * Video codecs: Xvid, DivX, Windows Media, MPEG 1/2, H264
    * Audio codecs: MPEG 1/2/3, Windows Media, AAC
The cables on the power/reset buttons are too short to reach the pins, so I start my pc with a screwdriver.
    OHH YEAHH!!!

GeexBox is better but can be buggy....I got it running on my system before I cleverly thought I should reinstall it...now it won't recognize my wiimote. *sigh*

However, that aside, I would rec GeexBox over Mplayer since it has a pretty good fastforward and backward feature.
