Setting up my HD (Western Digital Passport)
I got my black Wii on V4.1E today and have successfully managed to follow a tutorial by dogeggs to get stuff running.
I also bought a Western Digital Passport 500gb external drive today as I read it was one of the most compatible drives.
I used WBFS Manager to format the drive and copy on a couple of ISO's. When I load up neogamma and choose USB, nothing happens apart from my drive light blinks.
If I take a 4gb USB key I have and use WBFS Manager to copy on an ISO, neogamma plays the games off it fine.
Is there a certain way I need to set up my hard drive? Ideally I'd like an NTFS partition aswell as a WBFS one so that I can use it for other stuff too.
Any help would be grately appreciated.
I never used NeoGamma.

Did you format the drive to Fat 32 before formatting it in WBFS? You must format to FAT 32 before formatting in WBFS or else your games will not be recognized by the wii. There is a great free program (windows) called Fat Formatter 32 that will format the drive for you flawlessly. It takes a About three to four hours though so you have to be patient. I usually run other applications while the drive is being formatted.
Thanks for the replies...
I found this thread whilst searching last night:
and when I followed it, my HD works. Now I just need to figure out how to multi partition it!!!
mp3c - why should I choose a different loader? Whats wrong with neogamma?
Mainly personal preferance. I prefer the layout of USBLoader GX more than NeoGamma. Just looks cleaner with the covers and everything.Plus it runs everything I have tried so far.
