Thread: Question about D2Pro9

    Question about D2Pro9

Using the utility disc after upgrading the D2Pro9 to 1.4 there is an option called region patcher. I turned it off, since I have a NTSC compatible display, and my NTSC backup discs stopped being recognized by my PAL Wii. Obviously now I know I have to keep it on, but my question is, is this supposed to happen? Because I thought a region patcher utility was just to solve display compatibility issues, or to use with modchips that don't support multi region. D2pro9 supposedly does, after you boot an own region backup after installing the chip to activate the function (which I have, twice now). So, is there any problem with my chip/console, or does the region patcher have to be on for the chip to support multi region?
    Thanks in advance.

yeah the region patcher is so you can play games from other regions.. (NTSC & NTSC-J)
it has nothing to do with the display.. You chip is fine.. Have fun..

Thanks for you reply. But the game itself remains NTSC, right? Or does the region patcher patch the game to PAL?

Welcome.. yeah.. the game itself it stays NTSC
The region patcher on the modchip tells your Wii to read it & recognize it
