Sick of black screen on Super Smash Bros.

I know a lot of people are having problems with ssbb. I too am one of these people. I have spend several days trying to solve the problem of my wii freezing after the Kirby/Mario fight. I have tried EVERYTHING. I have upgraded to rev15, the latest version of usb loader, the Hermes 222/223, deleting the savefile, fooled around with the options in usb loader gx. NOTHING IS WORKING! I still get the stupid black screen. I have a 4.2u console.

I know this may sound as though I'm beating a dead horse, but if anyone out there has fixed this problem, please let me know.

    Thanks for your time

If your game is pirated, then it was a bad rip. IOS222/Hermes must be used, even to rip the game --- never mind playing the game.

I'll rip my copy of SSBB tonight and try it out. I'll report the results. Do I use usb loader gx to rip the game with settings on IOS 222?

    Thanks for the help

Exactly. Please note: Wiihacks does not condone piracy, I was providing the information for the purpose of legitimate users who may wish to install SSBB to HD.

I've tried a few copies myself and I'm in the same position. I think some people don't go through the sole, adventure area to get to the kirby/mario fight. I think they start it up and say............it's working.

I've tried a lot of things and I'm in the same boat

If you don't want answers, please don't ask (this adventure/sole bout between Mario and Kirby is the first thing that plays). Read the prior replies for a solution, if that is indeed what you are looking for. I gave real world answers based on a real world game and a real world problem.

Edit: please don't think my response is harsh, it's just you're not contributing anything constructive by your remarks.

    Got it!

    Thanks Nightstah,

I ripped my own copy of SSBB with Usb Loader GX on IOS 222. FINALLY, no more black screen. The only minor problem though, when I exit the game to go back to the Wii Menu, the wii freezes, no biggy though.

I will say it again: you must rip it with IOS 222 installed, you can't install it after the fact and attempt to play a defectively ripped game.
