Unhappy No Room Left On Wii To Save?

So i started to play rabbids go home and at the start it wants to create a save file but says I have no room on my wii memory? and that i need to copy stuff from my wii to my sd card to create room? I have all my games loaded onto a HDD except that one, would it make a difference if I had it on my HDD? is it possible to have save files on HDD?

I don't think the wii was designed with a harddrive in mind. it was designed to save savefiles to sd card and that's what you should do.

Look through the homebrew apps at wiibrew. there are some designed to handle save files but the wii will still need them to be on the sd card or wii memory to use them i think.

so I have 1 x 2gig SD card with all my HBC setup stuff on it.. should I save some stuff onto this card? or is it possible to have multiple cards? even though I am running most of my games of the gx loader? will my games still run with a differnt sd card in there?

well first of all if you have a fat32 partition on the hard drive, you can move some of that stuff from the sd card to the harddrive. keeping the same file structure (apps folder and such). when in homebrew channel click the 1 button for a harddrive load option. that may free up some space for you. but you really need to keep more free space on the wii memory.

can i have more than 1 SD card? or does my usb loader need to run with the SD card that has all my HBC installs on it"?

Just delete some of the game saves you don't use. Some of them can be copied to SD card and some cannot. I had to do that a few weeks ago, there are probably some games you do not play. Look at wii brew, there is an app that will let you copy save gams to SD card if you must keep the game saves.

Never mind, I went and found it for you, look on this list of tools, http://wiibrew.org/wiki/List_of_system_tools

before u go messing with save files have u looked at what channels you have on ur wii-there are probubly some u dont need, there is 1 inparticular, an introdution to the internet channel which is just a video that takes up 1600 block and it could be uselesss channels taking up all the space not save files!

Yes you can save the files on the same SD card you use for your hack files, etc

The program you need is called Savegame Manager

    Download it here http://wiibrew.org/w/images/c/cf/Sav...nager-v1.0.zip

    Warning!
This homebrew makes permanent changes to your Wii's flash memory (NAND) and should be used with caution.

This application allows you to extract/install savegames on your Wii. (data.bin files not supported). It allows savegames to be copied from the Wii to an SD card, including savegames that cannot normally be copied from the system menu. It is a combination of the two apps Savegame Extractor and Savegame Installer

    How to use

Run the application and select the save you would like to copy to or from your Wii.

    * Note: This app requires cIOS 249

    * A save game must already exist on the wii to restore saved games. Play the game once and create a save file before restoring a save game using installer mode.

    - If the game has never been played you will get error 106

    - If no save game exists on the wii you will get error 1
