Just another introduction
Hello everyone, and thank you for having me. This place is awesome; I thought at first I was just registering to get rid of the "[Only registered users can see links]". But after a brief visit and reading the content, I see this is the best source for Wii related stuff.
I've been softmodding me Wii for a long time, but recently took a break because of the DVD drive going, and just recently getting it replaced (I actually sent my Wii to N with HBC still intact)
When I recently got my Wii back, I was out of the loop, and went forth updating both the HBC and Wii. During the upgrade I was intrigued by the bit about DVD, and this sparked my interest. Insantly I saw I wasn't suppose to update, but I had no adverse effects other than not being able to install WADs (Of coarse until I found this site) All my previously installed channel's still functioned fine.
Well to wrap things up. I've got my Wii "up to speed" and can run my back up's conviently from my Flash Drive. It's nice not having to switch disc's anymore, and the speed that they load. Just need a way to get rid of the stupid "Put wrist strap on" and "Make sure there's free room" loading pictures. I'm have 4.2U currently, and am holding my breath on the "forced" updates that N is promising.
Thank you for reading.
PS: If anyone is wondering "WTF is his name?", the IVI makes an M.

If you are starting from scratch, new 3.1-4.1 written by Dogeggs

Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, complete 4.2 guide written by Messie
2009 Wii Serial numbers after LU3884XXXX and LEH2676XXXX have probably got the new D3-2 chip that prevents playing backup DVD's. They can still use original discs and USB loaders.
And please do donate to the forum if you are able so we can go on helping the Wii community.
I hope you have a great time here at WiiHacks, and increase your knowledge of all things Wii.
