Suggestions, Advice, Help
This is my first post besides my introduction and reply under introductions. I am not new to console soft mods. I have modded my NDS as well as my PSP and have installed linux on my PS3, etc.
I have a wii that was a 3.4 and I followed through the guide for 3.1 to 4.1 flawlessly. The problem started when I installed cIOSCORP 3.5 which turned my hbc upside down and wouldn't let me reinstall it. I have since fixed that by following the guide "no vulnerable IOS" or something like that.
After that I got the hbc back right side up and everything seemed peaches and cream. To test my set up I attempted to watch a ripped DVD that I had backed up from my original and I got a disc read error then I attempted to use the original and received the same error. At this point I have realized that I must be missing some IOS and felt that cIOSCORP 3.5 is the source of the issue.
My question at this point is if I should bring my wii back to a virgin state and start all over again, uninstall cIOSCORP 3.5 and install cIOSCORP 3.6, or just uninstall cIOSCORP.
I have plans of playing my backed up games on my ext hdd as well as playing DVDs and possibly streaming video media from my linux box. I have installed usb loader gx, but then I realized that I had neogamma and may not need the usb loader gx.
I would appreciate any thoughts, advice, suggestions or guidance on this issue. Thanks!
Playing dvd's needs you to install DVDX and a media player like Mplayer:
In my post I stated that I used the soft modding guide from 3.1 to 4.1 which includes the installation of bootmii, hbc, and dvdx. I also installed mplayer 0.76 which kept showing a loading screen which is a total other issue. If you could please read my post again and take into consideration that I have followed through the steps of softmodding form 3.1 to 4.1 flawlessly and I have installed cIOSCORP 3.5, etc. etc.
