Why are rips from Wii so small?

I am new to all this, but have been able to get everything to work so far with a USB WD hdd. I just backed up some games on the WII console and was surprised they were so small compared to some ISO images I have seen,
Like WII Mario only being something like 0.37GB. Is this normal or is not copying the whole game?

    Thanks

It is perfectly normal. The WBFS file system does not use all the filler that is used to accomodate the size of a normal wii disk.

It scrubs the game down. Its the same exact thing as downloading a scrubbed version of the game. It removes all the non sense data.
If I have helped you in any way, please thank me by pressing the little thanks button.
