Any way to downgrade from 4.2E ?

I stupidly upgraded my Wii firmware to 4.2E, and it seems to be working fine with Wasabi DX, but unfortunately as I've now found out, it won't run any of my NTSC backups, of which I have plenty

Is there any way to downgrade back to 3.4E?

And will any of the newer games give me trouble if I'm not running the latest firmware?

I wouldn't. Most people on this forum report that you will brick your wii. I would hold on for another couple of weeks. The wasabi website states that they are working on a firmware fix right now.

Strange. I upgraded my system using the real Nintendo 4.2 update and I was still able to play my DVD-R's. Wanted to play NSMB so I followed the http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...tem-menus.html

That got me working an unpatched NSMB DVD-R as well from Neogamma.

You can not do it without softmodding your wii, and once your softmodded you can run region free games just fine. If you want to play your NTSC games, do part A from the 4.2 guide linked below. Then install Gecko OS to your sd-card and load the disk in Gecko. I believe they should be region free. You could also try regionfrii on your iso files.

Regionfrii didn't work with Wasabi DX, but I've followed the guide and softmodded my Wii.

It now happily plays ISOs from my ipod over USB
Need to get a proper USB hard drive now hehe

The Ipod works as a USB drive? Can you still also use the Ipod as a music player using itunes??

I have an old 20gb ipod that I don't use much anymore, so I've formatted it to WBFS. I doubt you can use it for both though
