Thread: green light is on but wii wont start up

    green light is on but wii wont start up

    the wii is softmodded and i thnk i uninstalled something in the wad manager that was important. any idea on what the problem is and how i can fix this. i feel like an idiot so please no noob comments.

    It would be hard to know what you did, but you didn't by any chance uninstall ios60?

    What makes you think you might have? I simply stated a scenario that could cause a brick.

    You just dont go and start uninstalling random programs. If you dont know what you are doing, then you shouldnt be modding your console to begin with. When you mod the wii, you should already know what you can and cant remove. If you removed ios60, you did brick the console.

    well i dont know what it was exactly that i uninstalled. i was trying to uninstall a usb loader. when i tryed to exit the homebrew channel to the main wii menu it would just reopen the homebrew channel. not really thinking about why this was happening i shut down the system. and now it wont start up again.

    Chances are that the reason it went back into the homebrew channel was because there was no wii menu to go to. And now since you start up the wii and get nothing, you have a brick. What exactly did you do step by step?

    so if i did delete ios60 would doing the savemiifrii trick work?

    Nope. If you delete IOS60 you're a goner.

    Make a post in Bricked Issues if you like.

    You will need to be more specific about what you deleted though as so far the information you have provided is pitiful.
    Not really doing much Wii stuff these days.
