USB Loader not working with Kingston DataTraveler
Hello all. I've been using USB loader for a while with no problems. Was using an external powered usb drive. Now I'm trying to switch to a 128gb Kingston DataTraveler and it won't load any games. I can get in to the usb loader menu that shows all the games but none will load. Some of them just freeze the system, others take me back to the Wii homepage. I tried formatting it and trying again, using WBFS manager. The green light on the usb drive lights up like I think it should. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

if memory serves me correctly kingston FD use U3...... you will have to google a utility to remove that and just make it a regular storage device... i had to do that to my 8gb Sandisk FD to make it work with usbloader...

Thanks for the response. After a few days of fighting with it, I was finally able to reformat the drive. It was giving me some problems. I don't think it is U3, I've searched and based on what I've read it doesn't seem to be. Also, I tried the U3 uninstall tool and it doesn't recognize the drive. So back to square one, same problem, doesn't seem to be U3.
P.S. After format, it says 384kb used so something isn't being removed during format. Also says 127gb capacity in Windows but in WBFS, it says 128gb capacity. Don't know if that matters but thought I'd throw it out there.
Games won't load from USB
I loaded a game to my Sandisk 8GB Cruzer and was able to load and play it once. Later after I installed the proggy that lets me run games from disk I tried to get the game to load from USB (Cruzer) and it gave an error message , told me to load a disk and froze.
I would like to use a large capacity HD to store games since loading is quicker bur am confused now. Is it not possible to run games from both disk and from HD in Home Brew (HBC) ? Do I have to settle for 1 method
You can use neogamma to load disks and a usb loader to load and use both methods if setup correctly on your wii. There are numerious threads on how to successfully complete that and if your still having issues please put some detail to what your talking about. FW version, guide used, etc etc

I tried everything I could think of and couldn't get it to work. Couldn't find an answer on here or anywhere else online. I got a western digital passport on Ebay for $40 for a 160 gig. It's small and powered by the Wii so that's the best scenario I could find.
I got a seagate 350 gb freeagent and it works great.
As a matter of fact, all the wiis I mod have had freeagents. That's how I got mine for trade.
My little girl needs one now. She's been using a 8gb geek squad stick. They work good too.
Ever notice that windows 7 won't use it for ready boost and says it a usb 1.1? The 128gb kingston not the geeksquad.
And I can get small games to load off of it. Like NSMB, but nothing over a gig. It be nice if it would work this thing was expensive.
But thx for the reply.
