new need help
hey i am new here and i wanted to say hhey to everyone and i need help i am going a new wii in a week i been looking around here and on youtube but what files do i need to play backups games and other stuff well can all wiis be hack and sanse its going to be new i quess its going to have a new firmware thanks

If you are starting from scratch, new 3.1-4.1 written by Dogeggs
If you already have Homebrew, upgrade to 4.1 written by Dogeggs
Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, complete 4.2 guide written by Messie
2009 Wii Serial numbers after LU3884XXXX and LEH2676XXXX have probably got the new D3-2 chip that prevents playing backup DVD's. They can still use original discs and USB loaders.

Yes you can softmod it. There is a chance it might have a new drive chip in it that prevents you from loading burnt dvds. You could always load from usb if that is the case. DO NOT follow any guides on youtube. Use the links wiijohn gave you. Good luck!
If you would like to find out if your Wii has the particular D3-2 chipset, then use THIS! and cross reference your serial number to the list. And yes for the love of everything holy DO NOT use youtube guides........ there are some youtube videos embedded in our guides but they are just for visual reference.
