    Angry Wiikey not reading disks

o.k. Here we go....I have a wiikey1 with the 1.9s update and used to have 3.4u then got updated to 4.2u. I know a big mistake. Anyway, successfully downgraded to 3.2u and now my back ups wont read. I installed the ios 38,53,55. Now even the originals wont play. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

You messed up first by upgrading to 4.2, then you messed up again by downgrading.
Come to the Irc room to get help or just have fun

Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot.

I know I know. I'm still kinda of a noob. I figured my Wiikey would be all I needed until the update hit. So thinking I was doing the "best" thing and downgrading I think I screwed it up even more. Homebrew is working fine and the wads install without a problem. I just cant play disks. I'm thinking of starting over with a new Wii and chip. What do you think?

Am new to all these mods - got Wiikey 1 and 1.9s update - am wanting to play some new releases I got from some sites - are there any risks by putting them into my wii as I dont wanna brick it or wife will kill me!

You should be fine. Just dont update to 4.1 or 4.2. I did and now the chip doesnt work nor can I play regular games. Got to start over.

    Evil,

I am having the same issue. I am going to take the WiiKey out later today and see if I can read disks again. Right now it wont read ANYTHING factory pressed or burned. I'll update you later when I do this. It may save you from having to buy a whole new Wii.

Thats ok. I already started over. New Wii with 3.4u installed and a Drivechip. Mostly all of my games work now (about 300) but a few don't. I have re burned a decent image and most of them are working now. Just a tidbit.....I listed my old Wii on e-bay to help pay for the new one and they took it down because I listed it as having Homebrew installed.
