I need nubie help.
I have a wii with a wii key it is about 3 years old and i haven't updated it. when i got it ,it came with alot of games and i didnt need anymore at the time.Since then i have found an abundance of games and burnt a few using nero, but when i try to play them they try to update my wii. Needless to say i havent alowed this to happen because i dont want to brick my wii. I installed homebrew not totaly understanding what this could do for me and now i think a wiikey update is what i need. Anyway am i going down the right path with my problem and has anybody got any tips or downloads for me? ,i would be eternaly grateful.
Glad to hear you haven't updated to 4.2. Use the update guide to 4.1

2009 Wii Serial numbers after LU3884XXXX and LEH2676XXXX have probably got the new D3-2 chip that prevents playing backup DVD's. They can still use original discs and USB loaders.
I hope you have a great time here at WiiHacks, and increase your knowledge of all things Wii.
