    NSMB ISO Patch from Drivekey

    Hi Guys,

I am one of the many who has his Wii Modded with Drivekey which does not have the updated firmware for NSMB. On the Drivekey site it said they were realeasing a patch for people who have not got the upgraded chip or can not upgrade by jtag.....what I want to know is where can I get this patch? There doesnt seem to be any kind of support on the Drivekey official site

I think you misunderstood, unless I misunderstood
The jtag update will be required unless you're buying an NSMB compatible drivekey (which we are letting people preorder, just add NSMB compatible drivekey to the comments when checking out).

The future games will need to be burned with the BCA information on the disc, and the chip will handle how to redirect the check to verify with that area on the disc instead of where it is on the real disc. Without the update though I don't see how the modchip would have the information to check that... if you follow

So even with the latest version of Drivekey I will still need to patch the games ISO? I have 2 existing drivekeys without the NSMB update...where can I buy the JTAG programmer and new drivekey update to fix these?

they way it seems to be heading is that all scene released ISO's will also come with a patch file. You would then apply the patch to insert the BCA code into the ISO. The reason for this is that the scene groups are not happy with releasing pre-modified ISO's (its also not allowed with the current scene rules).

This way, all the chip needs to do is to check the section of the disc that contains the BCA code.

Some of the loaders are already able to extract and use the BCA data, soon all the loaders will, as will all the modchips.

The drivekey that will be on its way to some distributors (we are one of them) will work with NSMB, we will specify when it is NSMB compatible on our site as well so people know which one to buy etc.

The Jtag programmer though will be available in January I believe, will will have it for preorder closer to that time when we know the pricing.

how much will a jtag programmer cost? would it even be worth it or would i be better off trying to sell my old DriveKey and picking up a new one.

Same boat here. If I'm reading correctly you might as well get a new one then patch the bca code into the iso. (unless the programmer is under 12 bux lol) Whats odd is right now My drivekey reads the ntsc iso up to the menu then freezes when you start, maybe that is where the bca kicks in?

is it that complicated to provide the bca extra and then patch your isos with it?

Here is your information from Drivekey on whether or not you will have to progam it with jtag:

We have fixed the NSMB issue in DriveKey. The updated firmware will be in all chips shipping from Monday 30th November. We will also be providing an update for existing DriveKey owners, which will be released as soon as the JTAG programmer is ready. In the near future we will also publish a standard for appending BCA data at the end of the ISO image, so that any new game with this new protection will work without any update of the chip. The actual game ISO will remain unmodified.

    Hope this helps.

My opinion is that the jtag programmer should be reduced in price for the ones who were told the dvd update or jtag whould be provided, Unless I just misunderstood.
