Worth Softmodding Wii?
I was wondering if it was worth softmodding wii if i want to play alot of backups? My brother recently bought a wii and I usually hack our game systems but this time if I brick this system my bro would be pissed because he paid for it . How easy is it to brick the wii and how easy is it to softmod the wii and play backups. Also will an 8gb Sandisk suffice for softmodding the wii?
alot of ppl like myself think it is very easy to softmod a wii, especially if you have had some experience in working with the types of files and going through the process of doing other systems. there is also a reasonable risk that the process can go wrong if you do something that is not in the guide or do something out of order. it's simply a choice of doing nothing or taking a chance that you can read and follow directions

Please read, reAD, READ till your eyes bleed. Go over everything until your sure you can attempt these mods. You don't want a bricked Wii because of a step you might have missed.

I checked my wii and its serial no. starts with LU67 and was wondering if the guides will work for that model. Also my brother accidentally updated the system to 4.2.
You can still mod your system. Just follow the 4.2 guide in my sig to a T and everything will be fine. As far as bricking, as long as you have BootMii installed [and make a NAND backup] along with preloader, your chances of bricking are very slim.
