    Which of these mod chip for DIY instal & why?

    I've done a check on my serial number and I have a D2C2 drive chip. The following are the listed compatible mod-chips:

    * Argon
    * D2Pro9 v2 (D2C2)
    * Wasabi
    * Wiizard
    * D2Sun v1.31+, v3+
    * D2Lite
    * WiiKey 2
    * DriveKey
    * Wasabi DX

    Which ones are currently available(preferably in Australia or can be shipped)
    What is the difference between them?

    I looked through quite a few tutorials on the installation and am confident doing it myself. I've got a soldering iron and basic soldering skills. Which one is easiest to install and why?

    What can go wrong if I install a chip myself versus getting a pro to do it, and how hard is it to remove the soldered chip without damaging the Wii or the chip?

    As this is your first post here is some info you will need.

    Try posting in the drive key section, I would suggest a new clip on device, no soldering.

    Hi and welcome to WiiHacks riley454

    If you need advice or help for anything Wii related you have joined the right site, whether its hard or soft modded.

    Don’t be shy, ask if you are stuck, just don’t expect other people to do all the work for you.

    Before you start anything, make sure you read the rules go over the tutorials, and most importantly, search before asking questions.

    Make sure you post in the correct areas of the forums.

    If you already have Homebrew, upgrade to 4.1 written by Dogeggs

    Don’t update to 4.2, but if you are already on 4.2, complete 4.2 guide written by Messie

    2009 Wii Serial numbers after LU3884XXXX and LEH2676XXXX have probably got the new D3-2 chip that prevents playing backup DVD's. They can still use original discs and USB loaders.

    I hope you have a great time here at WiiHacks, and increase your knowledge of all things Wii.
