Firstly what version is my wii?

    Hello all,

Just decided to invest in a wii!! I have stuck by my beloved cube for years now, i am well versed in homebrew as i have a psp/cube/psx etc but this is all new to me!! I assume the first thing i need to do is find out what version my wii is, i purchased the wii about 4 weeks ago and have not opened the box yet (its for the kids for christmas), how do i find out this information/can it be found without opening the wii??

One very confused new wii owner

You'll have to switch it on. On the main system menu, select data management, then settings, it will show you the version of software. Something like 4.1U.
    Do not agree to update.
