USB with Neogamma 8
When I attempt to load a game off my usb stick (WBFS) neogamma sits there and very slowly counts down, until I unplug the stick and plug it back in. Then it sees it just fine. Is this normal? I know I have it in the correct slot as it does work, but i need to unplug, and plug it back in during its count down process. It then uses it just fine.
On a side note, does anyone know where I can find a neogamma 8 rev12 ntsc auto-loading channel (dvd) ? (wife hates hitting buttons)
Thanks for any help.
As long as your using the outermost USB port then your good. It may just be a wierd quirk with your system. Have you tried using any other USB Loaders, you can give USB Loader GX a try, WiiFlow [which i prefer the most], CoverFlooder, or Configurable USB Loader [I think thats what it's called, never did try that one]
About the NeoGamma problem, I can't be any help, sorry.
Cool thanks for the reply. I am kinda seeing the trend now with going to usb loader gx or wiiflow ... they also look much better
Quick question though, do they both support dvdr playback and not just usb (like neogamma) ?
Also, if going this route I believe I am going to get a larger usb stick. What is the largest I can easily get, format, and roll easily using wbfs or the wii itself?
Also (sorry) is the latest version of usb loader gx: USB_Loader_GX_r815_-_ULNR ?
Yes thats the newest revision, but USB Loader comes with a really niftly online update where it checks for the latest build for you. Just go into the Settings and look for the update option. USB Loader GX will also do the loading of backups, there is a little disc icon on the top bar. I don't know how well it works as I just load straight from a USB HDD, and when i did play the occasional backed up game, I would personally use NeoGamma.
As far as your Thumb Drive question, just take the plunge and purchase a 60 dollar USB HDD. I have a 120 gb and i can top off at around 40 games in one shot with it.
You just have to make sure it's compatible, you can find the compatibility guide here:
USB Devices Compatibility List - WikiTemp
I belive they cover you Thumb Drive question in that list too, so chack it out.
Now to find a tutorial on how to properly partition this baby. Am I going to find out that its super easy because wiiflow or gx does it for me haha? So no size limits huh.
Thats what i'm here for.
