Need a piece of advice...
This whole firmware update, wii versions, black screens of death and all makes me confused as i don't understand that much of it, lol.
So i wanted someone to tell me what they think waht i should do. 'Cause my wii has the ver. 3.4E on it and I wanted to play Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes of Time, but when i get it into the wii it askes me for an update. I don't know if me updating the system will cause some games to stop working or get them to show me the black screen or something and that gets me a little worried on doing it (but i'm still a little eager to do it 'cause i really want to play the game )
Can anyone tell me their opinion on the matter?
dont update, although i thought that game used 3.4
one option is to softmod your wii and download a backup of the game, that way, you could safely play it
here is the link to do that http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-use-run.html
Homebrew Channel 1.0.6 | Internet Channel | Sys Menu 4.1e | NeoGamma R8 b15 | Preloader .30 r3 | cIOS38 r14 | Wad Manager 1.5 | cIOSCORP 3.5 | DVDX v2 | Mplayer CE | WiiGator GC Backup Launcher Ver 2.0 | Wii64 Nintendo 64 Emulator | Homebrew Browser V 0.3.6 | IOSCheck V 0.3.6
I've already changed (with the ios patcher) the ios on the iso. to the one that appeared on the corresponding version of the version that appeared after the wiisystemmenu on the wiiscrubber.
Then i burned the image and i still got the message asking for the update on the screen. I tried this with teh Madagascar Kartz. I don't know what i have done wrong... or even if i have done something well lol. If anyone knows how this works, could you tell me what i'm missing or doing wrong?
Just update from the game disc. NEVER UPDATE Wii FIRMWARE VIA WIFI. The only reason that you should not update via game disc is if you run homebrew.

Thanks a lot, it worked just fine =D But r u sure that if i always upgrade my wii with PAL discs (as my wii is PAL too) i won't ever have problems with other games working, and by that i mean not working lol.
Trying to solve it once and for all!!
It seems that, as far as i can tell, using the homebrew channel might get things a lot simpler about what reffers to play the newer games. But i already have a wasabi in my wii.
I've read somewhere that using both a chip and the homebrew channel might get me some problems with the wii? Is that true? If it is, what can happen?
And the true question, should i get the homebrew channel or not?
